Haldol 0.5mg (1/2mg) Tablets: Side Effects and Experiences
I've been prescribed Haldol 0.5mg (1/2mg) Tablets for my Tourette's syndrome and I'm a bit worried about the side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? What were your experiences like? I'm particularly concerned about the more severe side effects, but my doctor made it seem like they're rare. And what about the other side effects, like drowsiness or restlessness? I'd love to hear from anyone who has taken this or has more information.

I've been on Haldol for a few years now for schizophrenia. The biggest issue for me is the drowsiness, but I've found it manageable. The other side effects, while present, weren't too bad for me. Just be careful if you drive or operate machinery.
I'm on a different antipsychotic and it's a miracle drug for me. I've heard Haldol can be a bit rough on some people, so just be careful. You got this, though.
If you experience any severe side effects, go to the ER immediately. It's better to be safe than sorry! I had a friend who waited it out and it became serious. Don't let that happen!!
Side effects bloat this drug. I'd try a different one, but I don't know if you've tried anything else yet. It sucks that we have to deal with all this just to get better.
I've had Haloperidol before, but I was on a much higher dose and for a different reason and duration. Still, I didn't notice much in the way of side effects, but I did experience minor weight gain. I don't think that's a side-effect as much as I do the outcome of being a bit more motionless than usual.
