Haloperidol 10mg: My Experience with this powerful antipsychotic. Can it help with schizophrenia?
Hi everyone, I've been prescribed Haloperidol 10mg for my schizophrenia. I've heard it can be effective but also have serious side effects. Has anyone here taken this medication? What was your experience like? I'm particularly concerned about the movement issues and other serious side effects. Did anyone have to change their diet or exercise regimen while taking this? Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I switched to a different medication because of the side effects. Haloperidol worked for a while, but the tremors and stiffness were too much to handle. I'd recommend talking to your doctor about other options if you experience these issues.
I've been on Haloperidol for a few years now. It's helped a lot with the hallucinations, but yeah, there are side effects. I've gained some weight and feel a bit more tired than usual, but it's manageable.
You know what they say, 'One man's medicine is another man's poison'. Haloperidol might be great for some, but it could be absolutely horrible for others. Sigh, I hope you find something that works for you.
I think it's important to listen to your body. If something doesn't feel right, don't push through it. Talk to your psychiatrist and find what works for you.
The drowsiness is no joke. I passed out on the train on my way home from work the first week I was on this stuff. Crazy but worth the trade off
I've been on it for a few weeks and I feel like a zombie. I've had to take a lot of time off work because of the drowsiness. Speaking with my psychiatrist about it. i think I'm going to try a lower dose.
Watch out for the movement issues. My aunt was on this and she had some serious issues with her body movements, it was scary
I started taking this and it changed my life. The hallucinations were driving me crazy. I was having 30 - 40 a day, now it's down to maybe 5. It's a miracle drug
I've heard good things about this drug for Tourette's. Not sure about schizophrenia though.
I've had good luck with this drug so far. Just make sure you don't take it with grapeseed oil. Crazy but true. I'm always angry now too. It's been a mood killer.
