I started taking Haloperidol 10mg tablets recently to manage symptoms of schizophrenia. So far, it's been helpful, but I'm curious about others' experiences. What side effects have you encountered, and how have you managed them? I've heard about some serious ones, like neurological issues and changes in vision, but I'm also dealing with increased saliva production, which is just unpleasant. How do you cope with the side effects? Have any of you experienced improvements in hallucinations or delusions? Is Haloperidol the only option? Are there alternatives worth considering?

My doctor told me that if I experience any severe side effects, like trouble controlling movements or seizures, I should go to the ER right away. It's scary to think about, but better safe than sorry. I've had some pretty intense restlessness and headache.

Just started Haloperidol last week. Feeling pretty groggy, but hoping it helps with the delusions. How long did it take for you guys to see improvements? Nothing yet, but I've also been struggling with nausea and vomiting. It's rough.

I've heard horror stories about the neurological side effects. I had a friend who had a severe movement disorder from this medication. I'm glad it's working for you, but be cautious and keep an eye out for any weird symptoms.

I've had some weird side effects. Pretty sure the acne was from the drug, but it's cleared up. I've had increased saliva production. It's annoying, I use a mouthguard at night. I've also had intense sleep disturbances and I'm not sure if that is from the drug or not. I am seeing a psychiatrist about a possible switch.

I had a bad reaction to Haloperidol. I got a really bad skin rash, and I felt like I was having an allergic reaction. It was terrifying. I had to go to the ER and they told me to stop taking it immediately. I'm on a different medication now, and it's been much better. I've also had headaches and a lot of anxiety in the past.

Haloperidol made me feel like a zombie. I switched to Abilify, and it's been much better. Much less drowsy, and my thoughts are clearer. Definitely talk to your doctor about other options if you're struggling.

I've been on Haloperidol for a while and it's helped a lot with my hallucinations. But the weight gain is insane. I've gained like 30 pounds. Ugh. I've also had changes in sex drive and menstrual changes. This is concerning and I've had to consult with my OBGYN.
