I was recently prescribed Azithromycin 600mg tablets for a serious bacterial infection, specifically Mycobacterium Avium Complex (MAC). I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones that require immediate medical attention. I've heard horror stories about severe skin reactions and liver problems. Has anyone else been through this? What was your experience like? Were the side effects manageable, or did you face any serious issues? I'd appreciate some insights from those who have gone through similar treatments.

I've heard that liver issues can be a big concern with Azithromycin. I would definitely watch out for any signs of liver problems. If you start feeling really tired, have stomach pain, or notice changes in your urine or stool color, get to the doctor right away.

I've taken lower doses of Azithromycin before, and it was fine. But the 600mg dose can be pretty strong. Make sure to stay hydrated and rest as much as possible. Also, keep in touch with your doctor if anything feels off. And yes do get rid of any alcohol in your system.

I think I had C. diff once. It's the worst diarrhea I've ever had—bloody, painful, and just awful. If you get any signs of that, like severe stomach cramps or bloody diarrhea, get to the hospital immediately. It can be life-threatening.

I've had some friends who've had severe skin reactions from antibiotics. It's pretty scary stuff—blisters, peeling skin, and even internal organ problems. Definitely something to keep in mind. Have you talked to your doctor about any special precautions you should take?

I was prescribed Azithromycin for a similar infection last year. The side effects weren't too bad for me—I experienced some mild stomach discomfort and a bit of nausea, but nothing too severe. I did have to be careful about taking it with food to avoid any upset stomach. Just make sure to follow your doctor's instructions closely and report any unusual symptoms right away. Hope you feel better soon!

I heard Azithromycin can cause some serious issues. I'd be really careful if I were you. Keep an eye out for any allergic reactions or changes in your hearing or vision.

I've been on Azithromycin a few times and never had bad side effects, just a bit of nausea and headache. But then again it was for a sinus infection and I took the 250mg dose for 3 days. Or maybe I was in some kind of a study that didn't tell me about. Does anyone know of any studies?

Feel better soon! Just keep in mind that while side effects can be scary, they're often manageable. If you experience diarrhea, make sure to drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. And if it gets really bad, don't hesitate to call your doctor.

It's always good to be cautious, but you have to remember that antibiotics like Azithromycin are prescribed because the benefits outweigh the risks. Just keep an eye on any changes in your body and talk to your doctor if you have any concerns. Good luck!
