I was recently prescribed Dantrolene 100mg capsules for muscle stiffness related to my multiple sclerosis. I'm trying to understand the side effects, as some of them seem quite serious. Has anyone had any experience with this drug? What's your take on the side effects, or any helpful tips on getting the most out of treatment while minimizing side effects? How are you managing any side effects you may have experienced?

I was prescribed Dantrolene after a spinal cord injury. I was really worried about the side effects, especially the liver problems. I had to get regular blood tests for the first few months, but so far, so good. No issues with side effects and the muscle relaxation part has been great! It really is a matter of getting regular check ups with your doctor and being safe. I'm very grateful I had mine!

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles, but I'm glad to hear Dantrolene has been helping!

I've seen people making jokes about the diarrhea side effect. Not cool. That's not a fun side effect to deal with and it should be taken seriously. I liked how the OP talked about treating it with their doctor. Well said!

I've read about it being used for malignant hyperthermia. That sounds terrifying.

I had a bad experience with this drug. I felt extremely weak and tired. it wasn't worth the muscle relaxation. I had to switch to another medication. I don't know if it was a side effect or something else, but it wasn't a good fit for me.

The FDA guidelines are only guidelines. I wouldn't be too worried about all those symptoms. I've been prescribed medications that had more serious side effects and they never happened to me. I've also been fine with Dantrolene, but I do recommend talking to your doctor.

Just a heads up, the dizziness can be managed by starting with a lower dose and gradually increasing. Make sure you consult with your doctor before you start any medication or change your dosage!

What worried me was the liver problems. My doctor assured me that it's rare, but still, it's scary. I had to do regular blood tests for a few months, but so far, it hasn't been an issue. But I am grateful for my doctor's help and guidance.

I think we should all be aware of the potential side effects and report them. This way, we could help everyone who considers taking this medication.

I've been on Dantrolene for about a year now, and it's been a game-changer for me. I have cerebral palsy, and the muscle spasms were getting unbearable. I did experience some dizziness at first, but it went away after a few weeks. And honestly sleeping more has been a blessing in disguise!
