I've been taking Unithroid 0.025mg (25mcg) tablets for the last few months to manage my hypothyroidism. Initially, I felt a significant improvement in my energy levels and overall well-being. However, I've recently noticed some hair loss, which is a bit concerning. The medication has been working pretty well, but this side effect is a bit of a downer. Has anyone else experienced hair loss while taking this medication? The product sheet says it could be temporary. How long did it take for your hair to grow back? I'd appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. I know some people seem to handle the transition better than others, so curious if there are any tricks to minimizing this side effect.

Keep in mind that hair loss can also be caused by stress or other factors, I think it's possible it could be unrelated, but worth mentioning to your doctor.

Hair loss is temporary, and your thyroid levels are worth the struggle. You won't always be on the same dosage, so don't get discouraged. Your doctor will adjust as needed.

I used to take Syntroid and switched to Unithroid. I didn't notice any major difference, but maybe yours is a little different. My thyroid levels are much more stable now. Best of luck with your treatment.

Just remember, hair loss from hypothyroidism treatment is usually temporary. Keep in mind you are not alone, a lot of people go through this.

Hair loss is actually quite common with thyroid medication. It's due to the change in your hormone levels. I found that taking biotin supplements helped quite a bit.

I've been on Unithroid for a year and experienced some hair loss initially, but it grew back after a few months. Make sure you're taking your dosage consistently at the same time every day. Also, consult with your doctor to see if you might be deficient in any other vitamins or minerals.
