I've been using Carboxymethylcellulose 0.5% Eye Drops for about a month now to relieve my dry eyes. At first, it seemed to help with the irritation and burning, but recently, I've started to experience some concerning symptoms. I woke up with a rash around my eyes and some eye pain. I'm worried it might be some of the side effects listed in the instruction sheet. I checked and found out that these symptoms might be signs of an allergic reaction. I've been trying to figure out if I should stop using them and possibly switch to a different brand. Have any of you experienced similar issues? If so, what did you do about it?

Be careful with eye drops. Some can make your eyes worse. If you're experiencing severe side effects, stop using them immediately and see a doctor.

I experienced some irritation, not as bad as some of you. I tried switching it up and changing the eye drop brand. Make sure to not touch your eyes too much when using these. It can cause irritations. You can also try some eye drops designed for night use.

Severe side effects are rare, but they can happen. Keep a close eye on your symptoms and if they worsen, go to the doctor immediately. That's why they give directions for proper use and side effects. Make sure you're using it as directed. It’s possible you might be allergic to one of the ingredients in the eye drops. You should definitely contact your doctor to figure out what’s wrong.

Are you using any other eye drops or medications? Sometimes combinations can cause reactions. It's worth checking with a pharmacist.
