I was prescribed Carteolol Hcl 1% Oph Sol 10ml for glaucoma, and while it's been effective in lowering my eye pressure, I've been experiencing some concerning side effects. I've had a persistent burning sensation in my eyes, excessive tearing, and some dizziness. I've also been having trouble sleeping. I'm worried about these symptoms, as some people have reported muscle weakness and shortness of breath. Has anyone else had similar experiences, or should I talk to my doctor about switching medications? I'd also be interested in hearing from anyone who has had a different or better experience with this medication. Let’s share our experiences and hopefully, someone can offer some useful advice. It’s always helpful to hear from others who have gone through similar situations.

I've had no issues with Carteolol, but I did have some eye irritation. It was manageable, but if it gets worse, definitely switch!

I switched to a different beta-blocker because the burning sensation was unbearable. It's worth discussing alternatives with your doctor.

Remember the side effects are just as important as the benefits. If it's too uncomfortable, talk to your doctor!

I remember reading about someone who had muscle weakness. Scary stuff. Good on you for reaching out and asking for advice. Be safe and take care of yourself!

I had the same trouble with sleep, but my doctor adjusted the timing of my doses, and it helped a lot. Might be worth asking about that.

I had a friend who experienced dizziness and muscle weakness. She ended up trying a different beta-blocker. I think she's had better luck with it!

Some people have reported severe side effects. If it's more than just a minor inconvenience, don't hesitate to find another solution.

I've been on Carteolol for a few months now, and the dizziness was a bit of a shock at first, but it went away after a couple of weeks. Give it some time, but if it persists, definitely talk to your doctor.

My mom was on this and she had no issues. She actually had the opposite experience, said it worked wonders, maybe you should check with the doctor instead of switching. Everyone is different!
