So I was prescribed Ipratropi/alb 0.5/3mg Inh Solution for my COPD. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and while it does seem to help with my breathing, I've been experiencing some pretty bad side effects. I know that medication side effects can vary from person to person, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has had similar experiences. The side effects I'm having are: headache, irritability and some a lack of sleep. I've also noticed some shakiness and an increased heart rate. I'm trying to decide if I should talk to my doctor about switching to a different medication or if these side effects might go away with time. Any insights or experiences to share? Thanks in advance for any help, I'm just trying to figure out what's normal and what's not.

I've been on this medication for a while and I've experienced some side effects, but nothing too severe. I've had some minor shaking and a bit of a racing heart, but it's manageable. I've found that taking it at a different time of the day helps with the sleep issues. It's definitely worth discussing with your doctor, though. I had some weird eye pain and redness too but it went away quickly. It sounds like your issues are a bit worse than mine though, I would seriously consider talking to the doc about it.

I switched to this from albuterol and I had the same thing. The side effects were bad, I couldn't sleep and had troubles concentrating at work. It took over a month for me to feel any relief and a few more weeks for the side effects to go away. I'd say give it a couple of months and if it's still bad, then talk to the doctor. I hated the side effects, but I hated the breathing issues more, so I stuck with it.

I've been on this for a few months and haven't had any major side effects. Maybe it's worth giving it a bit more time to see if the side effects subside? I've had a few headaches but nothing too bad. I would definitely talk to your doctor about it at your next appointment.

Did you try the different inhalers for this medication? I had the same issue with the side effects when I first started, but my doctor prescribed a different type of inhaler for me. I haven't had any side effects since then.

Side effects suck, but I've had it worse with other meds. Stick it out for a bit longer and see if it gets better. If not, talk to your doctor about adjusting the dosage or trying something else. Didn't mean to be snarky, just trying to be helpful.

I've been on this for a couple of years now and honestly, I haven't had any major side effects. I did have the shakiness and a bit of a fast heart rate when I first started, but it went away after a few weeks. The worst part for me is the irritation in the nose and throat. I use a saline spray a lot to help clear it out.

I had some really bad side effects from this medication. I had chest pressure, trouble breathing, and even some vision changes. Totally not worth it for me, I ended up switching to something else. Definitely talk to your doctor if you're experiencing anything like that.

I had some pretty bad side effects initially, but my doctor adjusted the dosage and it's been much better, though I've also heard of this drug causing urinary issues. I don't have any of those issues, but I've heard of it happening to some people I know. It's something to think about, I don't think it affects everyone, but it's good to be aware.

I had some pretty bad side effects initially, but my doctor adjusted the dosage and it's been much better. I've had some feelings of anxiety, kinda like a panic attack, but nothing too bad. Worse than that is the mouth and throat dryness I get from it. It's a bit annoying, but it's worth it because it helps me breathe better.

I don't get any side effects from it, but I hate the taste. It's like having a face full of dead fish the whole day. :(
