I've been taking Niacin 750mg ER Tablets for a few months now to help manage my cholesterol levels. The doctor recommended it, and I've seen some improvement. However, I've been experiencing some pretty intense flushing, especially at night. I've tried taking aspirin beforehand, but it's still quite uncomfortable. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar issues or if there are any tips to mitigate this? Also, I'm curious if anyone has experienced any of the more serious side effects listed, like liver problems or muscle pain. It's a bit scary to read about, but I'd like to be prepared.

Seriously, if you experience any of the serious side effects like muscle pain or liver problems, do not mess around. Get to a hospital immediately. I had a friend who had to be hospitalized for liver problems and it was scary. He had to stay there for weeks because he was taking niacin at night and the flushing made it worse because he was dehydrated. So hydration is also important.

I've been on Niacin for a while and the flushing does get better over time. I also take aspirin 30 minutes before I take my Niacin and it helps with the flushing. Just make sure you're taking the right dose and not overdoing it.

I felt the same way, but my doctor said it's normal. You could try taking HRT(heated room temperature) dissolved in lukewarm water, it helped me.

I take niacin and had bad flushing problems. I figured out that I was just taking it wrong. I was taking it on an empty stomach and it was way worse at night. I started taking it with food and it has made a huge difference. I also started taking a low dose of aspirin 30 minutes before, and I haven't had any problems since.

STay hydrated and evenly spaced doses, if you can. That's what my dr told me.

I've had no side effects at all. Niacin has been a game-changer for my cholesterol levels and I've not experienced any of the serious side effects. Just make sure you're taking it as prescribed and talk to your doctor regularly.

I've been taking Niacin for a few months and have not experienced any side effects. I take it with food and have not had any issues with flushing or anything else. I think it's important to take it as directed and not overdo it. But the side effects can be pretty scary so make sure to talk to your doctor if you have any concerns. It's a good idea to get regular blood tests done to monitor your liver function.

I think it's important to remember that everyone's experience with medication can be different. What works for one person might not work for another. Just make sure you're talking to your doctor regularly and monitoring your symptoms closely. And if you experience any serious side effects, don't hesitate to seek medical attention immediately.

I had to switch to a lower dose because the flushing was unbearable. I've heard that the ER (extended-release) version is supposed to have fewer side effects, so maybe consider talking to your doctor about that?
