I've been taking Olmesartan Medox/hctz 40-12.5mg Tab for a couple of months now to manage my high blood pressure. While it has helped lower my blood pressure, I've been experiencing some worrying side effects. I've read about potential serious side effects, but I'm not sure if what I'm feeling is normal or if I should be concerned. My doctor didn't mention any of these issues but, I'm wondering if anyone else has gone through the same thing. Should I consider switching to a different medication or is this something that just takes time to adjust to?

I've heard some people getting skin cancer from this med. I'm not saying this will happen to you, but it's something to keep in mind. Protect your skin from the sun and do regular skin checks, just in case.

I switched to this medication from another one, and while my blood pressure is better, I've been experiencing some extreme fatigue. I've also noticed that I'm losing weight unexpectedly. I spoke to my doctor about this, and he ran some tests. It turns out the medication was interacting with a vitamin supplement I was taking. Once I stopped the supplement, the fatigue and weight loss stopped. My doctor also mentioned that Olmesartan Medox/hctz 40-12.5mg Tab can sometimes cause electrolyte imbalances, which can lead to fatigue and weight loss.

I had some dizziness at first, but it went away after a few weeks. If it's persistent, definitely talk to your doctor.

I've been on this medication for a while and I've had some really bad stomach issues. I've had to go to the hospital a few times because of severe diarrhea and vomiting. I've also had some kidney issues and changes in urine output. I'm really worried about these side effects and I'm not sure what to do.

I had some skin irritation and a rash. My doctor switched me to a different medication. I'm glad I spoke up because it turned out to be an allergic reaction to the hydrochlorothiazide.

I've been on this med for a year and haven't had any issues. Maybe it's just your body adjusting?

I've had some mood changes and confusion. I wasn't sure if it was the medication or something else at first. I spoke to my doctor, and they ran some tests. Turns out the meds were causing an electrolyte imbalance. Once I adjusted my diet and hydration, the symptoms went away.
