Has anyone else experienced severe side effects from Permethrin 5% Cream for scabies?
I was recently prescribed Permethrin 5% Cream to treat scabies. The itching was unbearable, so I was relieved to finally get a treatment. However, after applying the cream, I started experiencing some concerning symptoms. I've heard that some people get severe side effects, but I'm not sure if what I'm feeling is normal. I used Permethrin a few years back and had no issues. Maybe you're reacting to something else? Try to pinpoint what's causing the discomfort.
I had a bad reaction to it too. I started getting hives and had trouble breathing. Went to the ER and they told me to stop using it immediately. Definitely call your doctor.
I used Permethrin for scabies and it worked great. I didn't get any side effects. Might want to double-check if it's the cream or something else causing the issues.
I think the more important thing to notice is whether the itching from scabies is improving or getting worse. Don't ignore the red flags.
I used it and had a weird burning sensation. Thought it was normal at first, but it got worse. Ended up seeing a dermatologist and they said to stop using it.
Took me a bit to get used to the smell, but no side effects for me. If it is really bad though, don't take any chances, go to the hospital.
