Has anyone else experienced severe side effects from Poly-Hist DM 5-25-10 Liquid?
I recently started using Poly-Hist DM 5-25-10 Liquid to help with my allergies and cough. The medicine seems to be working, but I've been experiencing some dizziness and trouble sleeping. I've heard that some people might have more severe side effects but I'm not sure how common this is. Does anyone have experience with this drug and have some insight to share?

I had an allergic reaction to this medication. I broke out in hives and my throat felt tight. Scared the crap out of me. Went to the ER and they told me to never take it again. Stick to something else next time.
I used this when I was pregnant and it was the only thing that helped my cough. But my doctor said it was okay to take during pregnancy. I don't know if it's a good idea long-term though.
I never heard about the side effects. I know my mom used to give this stuff to me as a kid and I was fine. Everyone is different though.
Be careful with this stuff. I took it once and felt like I was going to pass out. Never again.
I wish I could take this stuff. I've tried everything but nothing is working for my allergies.

I've been taking it for a few weeks now and haven't had any issues. I think I’d rather try some natural remedies next time.
I had a similar experience with this medicine. The first time I used it I felt a bunch of stuff stop up. The next time I used it, severe headaches and dizziness started when I used it outside in the sun. I tried to tough it out, but finally switched back to Claritin after a couple days and felt much better. Will be sticking to that medication now.
I was on this for a few days and it was great, but then I suddenly started to have chest pains and it freaked me out. I called the doctor and was told to stop taking it immediately. They gave me a new medication that works just as well without the scary side effects.
I've used Poly-Hist DM for years and never had any issues. It's always worked well for me, but everyone's body reacts differently to medications. If you're having serious side effects, it's definitely worth talking to your doctor about other options.
