I was prescribed Prevident 5000 Bst Plus toothpaste by my dentist to help with my high risk of cavities. It's a prescription-strength toothpaste with a high concentration of fluoride that's supposed to strengthen tooth enamel and prevent cavities. However, I've been experiencing some severe side effects, including a rash and tightness in my chest. I'm worried this might be more than just a minor reaction. Has anyone else had similar experiences? If so, what did you do? I'm considering contacting the FDA but I'm not sure. I'd appreciate any insights or advice from anyone who's been through this.

I've had flu-like symptoms from this. The side effects are just ridiculous. Avoid if you can, but if not, maybe ask about a different brand.

Contacting the FDA is a good idea. They can help track and address these issues. But seriously, talk to your doctor first. You need to get this under control as soon as possible.

Did you get the flavored version? I wonder if that could be causing the issue. Just a thought.

I have heard some bad things about fluoride in general. This is why I've always stuck to natural toothpastes. Sorry that you're going through this.

I've been using Prevident for a while without any issues. It really helped with my cavity problems. But if you're experiencing severe reactions, it's definitely worth reaching out to your doctor. If it's an allergic reaction, you might need an alternative. Just don't ignore the symptoms!

Oh no, that sounds scary! I've had mild reactions like sensitivity but nothing like that. Definitely call your doctor immediately.
