I recently underwent a medical procedure where Xylocaine/epinephrine 1%-100000 Inj was used as a local anesthetic. I've been experiencing some worrying side effects, and I'm not sure if they're normal or if I should be concerned. The medication contains Lidocaine for numbing and Epinephrine to constrict blood vessels, making the numbing effect last longer. However, the list of possible side effects is quite alarming. I've noticed some mild dizziness and a bit of a headache, but I'm not sure if these are typical or if I should seek medical help. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

I wouldn't worry too much if it's just a mild headache and dizziness. Those are pretty common side effects. But if you start feeling more severe symptoms like chest pain or trouble breathing, go to the ER immediately.

I had Xylocaine/epinephrine during a dental procedure. The dentist told me the epinephrine was added to prevent excessive bleeding. But I think dentist were not clear on the side effects the injection was going to cause.

I had a weird reaction to this drug once. I got this strange tingling sensation all over my body and felt really anxious. It was scary, but my doctor said it was rare, so I don't think you'll have the same issue. But honestly, if something feels off, it's always better to err on the side of caution and call your doctor.

Honestly, I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the side effects of this drug. It's used so commonly in dental procedures, and I had no idea it could cause such serious issues. I'm definitely going to be more cautious about it in the future.

I had a similar reaction to this drug and ended up in the hospital. The tingling sensations were beyond strange, and I felt restless and nervous. I was so relieved that the doctors on staff were helpful.

Methemoglobinemia? That sounds scary. I had no idea that was a possible side effect. I'm glad I don't have the blue lips yet.

I had a similar experience with Xylocaine/epinephrine. I felt lightheaded and had a bit of a headache too, but my doctor reassured me that these are common side effects and should go away in a few hours. I would recommend talking to your doctor to get their professional opinion.

Have you reported your side effects to the FDA? It's important to keep track of these things, especially if they are more severe. The FDA can help monitor trends and potentially prevent others from experiencing the same issues. You can report them online at https://www.fda.gov/medwatch. My doctor suggested I do that, and I'm glad a did because I felt heard and helped!
