I've been prescribed Xatmep 2.5mg/ml Oral Solution (Methotrexate) for severe rheumatoid arthritis, and while it has helped with my inflammation, I've been experiencing some concerning side effects. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences or if there are any tips for managing these issues. The medication is taken once a week, but the side effects seem to linger throughout the week. I've been dealing with a lot of fatigue, dizziness, and even some hair loss, which is really affecting my daily life. I want to know if these are common side effects and if there are any ways to mitigate them. I've been consulting with my doctor about it, but I'd love to hear from others who have gone through this.

I've been on Methotrexate for a few years now for my psoriasis, and I've definitely experienced some side effects. The most noticeable ones for me were fatigue and hair loss, which you mentioned. I found that taking it at a specific time of the week really helped, though. I take it on a Friday afternoon so the worst side effects hit on the weekend when I can rest. And I started taking a daily supplement of folic acid, which has really helped with the fatigue. You should try it!

If you're experiencing severe side effects, it might be worth discussing alternative treatments with your doctor. There are other meds out there that can help with rheumatoid arthritis.

I've been on Methotrexate for years and haven't had any major issues. Just make sure to drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol. It's a must!

I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with this. I've had some luck with a topical steroid to help with the skin issues. Might be worth a shot if you're having flare ups.

I've read that some people find that taking Methotrexate at night helps with the side effects. Might be worth a try if you're in pain.

I second the folic acid recommendation! My doctor suggested it to help with some of the side effects, and it's made a big difference.

I had a severe allergic reaction to Methotrexate. Never taking that again. Really scary.

Methotrexate is a powerful drug, but it's important to weigh the benefits against the side effects. If the side effects are unbearable, talk to your doctor about adjusting the dosage or switching to a different medication. It's a very personal experience, so I recommend making sure you have good communication with your doctor.

Be careful, methotrexate can be tough on the liver and kidneys. Make sure you're getting regular blood tests to monitor your liver function and kidney function.
