Has anyone else had a bad reaction to Dimaphen DM Cold/Cough Elixir? I'm feeling super dizzy and it's scaring me a bit.
I've been battling a nasty cold and cough for a few days now, so I picked up some Dimaphen DM Cold/Cough Elixir to help with the symptoms. I've taken it a few times today, but I'm feeling super dizzy and a bit nervous. Is this normal? I've seen some people saying they feel a bit drowsy but I feel so dizzy it makes me feel like I'm having a panic attack. This is the first time I've taken this stuff, but it's making me worry. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this or has any advice about it? Is this something that will pass, or should I be concerned about more severe side effects? I've been reading the side effects and it does say dizziness is a possibility but it's still a bit scary.

Dizziness is one of the side effects so it could just be that. But if it gets worse you need to see a doctor ASAP. Good luck and feel better soon!
I've had similar reactions with different cold medicines. I found that drinking lots of water and eating something before taking it helps with the side effects, but definitely check with your doctor if it gets worse. Also the bottle should say to avoid driving or operating heavy machinery, take it seriously.
I'm glad I found this thread. I was about to take some. I think I'll take a pass on this. Thanks for sharing. Now I can ask my doctor about a safer alternative.
Hmm it’s probably nothing to worry about. I know a lot of people say the dizziness is normal. But as a doctor though you should try and breathe a bit some will also help with the nervousness. If all else fails, try to put your head between your legs when you are sitting down and take a few deep breaths.
I have the same issue. I feel like the medicine makes me feel like I'm having an anxiety attack as well. Its annoying but nothing serious though I just go to bed after taking it.
This stuff is amazing, though. I took it last winter and it worked like a charm. I had no side effects, just relief from my cough and congestion. I would definitely recommend it if you can handle the side effects. Do you have a doctor's appointment soon? Maybe they can help you with this reaction.
I took this a while back and it gave me a horrible headache. I thought it was going to explode. I had to take some painkillers to help with it. My advice would be to avoid alcohol when taking this. It can have some crazy effects on a hangover.
