I've been using Eryth-Benz Perox Gel 46.6gm for about a month now to treat my acne, and while it seems to be helping, I've also experienced some pretty severe side effects. I've had bouts of bloody diarrhea and severe skin irritation. The gel is a combination of erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide, which is supposed to kill bacteria and unclog pores, but the side effects have been pretty scary. Has anyone else had similar issues? I've been trying to tough it out, but I'm starting to worry. Should I stop using it or try something else? I've heard that allergic reactions can be severe, and I don't want to end up in the hospital. Any advice?

I was sceptical of this when I was prescribed it by my doctor. It seemed a bit extreme to slap on two treatments in one go. The first week or so was difficult. My skin felt really sore but it did seem to clear up. I haven't had any major issues on top of that, but I have been taking a daily pill to prevent antibiotic side effects. A friend of mine was prescribed this and she ended up in the emergency room with a severe allergic reaction! This isn't a product to mess around with; if you're having any issues, consult your doctor ASAP.

I know someone who had to go to the hospital because of this stuff. It's not worth the risk if you're experiencing severe side effects.

I've never had bloody diarrhea from it, but I have heard horror stories. It's scary stuff, you shouldn't ignore the warnings.

I have had some pretty bad experiences with acne treatments and Eryth-Benz Perox was as bad as it got. I understand that it has been helpful, but if your side effects seem bad, I would consider speaking to your doctor about other treatments you can try. The gel works in different ways for everyone, and it is important to consider your body and skin type.

I used this gel for a while and it worked great. My acne cleared up, but I did experience some dryness. I used a gentle moisturizer and it helped a lot. If you are getting severe side effects, maybe consider switching to something else. Sometimes it is worth asking your dermatologist about alternatives

I had the worst experience with this stuff. I broke out in hives and my skin was so irritated, I couldn't even touch it without feeling like it was on fire. I ended up in the ER and was told to stop using it immediately. If you're experiencing bloody diarrhea, maybe it's not worth the risk. Definitely talk to your doctor.
