I've been using Timoptic 0.5% Ophth Soln (Timolol eye drops) for a few months to manage my glaucoma. I know it's supposed to help lower the pressure in my eyes, but I've been experiencing some side effects that have me really worried. I've read about the urgent side effects online, and while I don't have anything that severe, I do have some burning and stinging in my eyes, as well as some dizziness and headaches that have me concerned. I've always been careful with medications, and this is the first time I've had issues like this, even though I've read about how it’s possible to have side effects. I don’t want to stop taking it if it’s helping my glaucoma, but I also don’t want to ignore these symptoms. Has anyone else gone through something similar or had some issues with these drops?

I had a similar experience with Timoptic. The dizziness and headaches were a bit much, but it calmed down after a couple of weeks. Just make sure to talk to your doctor about it, and if it persists, there might be other treatments to try.

Timoptic literally saved my eyesight. A bit of burning is nothing compared to the pain of glaucoma.

I had horrible dry eyes with Timoptic, so bad I couldn't even open them sometimes.

Be really careful. I had some neurological issues and it turned out my pressure medicated was too high for me but I didn’t know that. Timolol is great but definitely talk to your doctor.

Sounds like you're experiencing some of the more common side effects. I'd say give it a few more days, but definitely call your doctor if things don't improve. It's important not to stop the medication without professional advice.

I've had the same issue with the burning and stinging, but my doctor said it should go away in a few days. Stick with it, but definitely keep an eye on the more serious symptoms.

You're not alone. It's tough to deal with side effects, but remember that Timoptic is helping manage a serious condition. Make sure you stick close to your doctor and don't ignore anything unusual.

I had a bad experience with dizziness and blurred vision, but after talking to the ophthalmologist, it turned out I had a friend's medication when I first started. It was a mistake. Make sure you have the real thing - the side effects are awful.

That burning and stinging can be brutal. Make sure you're not touching the tip of the dropper to any surface. It's a common mistake that can make the burning worse. Also, make sure you're washing your hands before applying the drops. It can make a big difference.
