I've been using Topicort 0.05% Gel for a few weeks now to treat my psoriasis, and while it's helped with the itching and redness, I've been experiencing some pretty nasty side effects. I've noticed some thinning of the skin around the application area, as well as some hair growth. I've also had some trouble with high blood sugar that my doctor didn't expect since I've never wanted a pimple on my face. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar issues, or if there are any tips on how to minimize these side effects. I'm really hoping this medication doesn't cause anyone else as much harm as it has for me. It's starting to worry me that I might have to see my doctor again, but I'm not sure I want to. I've never felt so badly used by a product as I do for this medication.

Have you talked to your doctor about switching to a different corticosteroid? After all these years, there must be another, much safer solution. Topicort has some serious side effects, and it might be worth exploring other options. Just remember to follow the FDA advice, and don't do this alone.

I've had the same issue with hair growth. It was terrifying at first, but my dermatologist said it's a common side effect and should subside once you stop using it. Try to be patient and monitor any other side effects closely. I hope you feel better soon.

I've had the opposite experience. It wasn't nearly as bad as you described. The itching and redness were gone within a few days, and I didn't have any of the side effects you mentioned. Maybe it's because I've been using it for a while. I hope you feel better.

I've been using Topicort for a few years now and haven't had any major issues. I do experience some skin irritation, but it's manageable. I've heard that applying a thin layer and rinsing off any excess can help minimize side effects. Might be worth a try?

Have you considered using a moisturizer alongside the Topicort? If you're experiencing skin thinning, a good moisturizer can help alleviate some of that dryness and irritation. It might not stop all the bad effects but it could help. It really helped me.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having a tough time with this. I've had a few outbreaks before from stress but this sounds more severe. I've been using a different corticosteroid and I haven't had any issues so far. Maybe you should consider switching to something else?
