I've been prescribed PEG 3350 Powder 119gm to help with occasional constipation. It's supposed to draw water into your stool, making it softer and easier to pass, but it can take 1 to 3 days to work. I had a really bad reaction to it. Got a rash and some hives. Had to go to the ER. Not everyone reacts the same way, but if you start feeling weird, get to a doctor ASAP.
I had no issues with it at all. Took it as directed and it worked within 2 days. No side effects for me.
I work in a hospital and we use PEG 3350 all the time. It's very safe and effective when used correctly. The key is to follow the instructions carefully and stay hydrated.
I wish they'd make this stuff taste better. It's like drinking chalk. But it works, so I'll deal with it.
