Has anyone else had trouble with severe constipation while taking Questran Powder Packets?
I've been taking Questran Powder Packets for a few weeks now to help lower my cholesterol, and while it seems to be working, I've been experiencing some pretty severe constipation. I've tried increasing my fiber intake and drinking more water, but it's not helping much. Has anyone else had this issue? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm also curious if anyone has had any success in getting their insurance to cover these or if they are covered. I know that it can also help relieve itching, but I've never had that issue, so that's not one of the things I'm looking forward to.

I've been on Questran for years and never had any issues. Maybe it's something else in your diet or routine causing the constipation. Have you tried a fiber supplement?
My insurance covers it, but it was a hassle to get approved. Might be worth fighting for if you don’t want to go without.
Questran can be tough on the digestive system. Maybe try a different cholesterol medication if the side effects are too much to handle. Always good to discuss with your doctor first.
I feel like every time I mention Questran, people want to make sure I'm not taking it for weight loss reasons haha. Definitely not the best medication for that.
If you're really struggling, maybe consider talking to a pharmacist. They might have some tips that you haven't thought of.
I switched to a liquid form of cholesterol medication and it worked better for me. Might be worth a shot if the powder is causing too many issues.
I had to switch to a different medication because of the constipation. It was just too much to deal with on top of everything else. Definitely talk to your doctor about alternatives.
Questran really helped with my itching from liver issues, but the constipation was a nightmare. Hope you find a solution!
I've had the same problem. My doctor recommended a stool softener, and it's made a big difference. Also, try to get some exercise if you can.
