Has anyone else used Hydrocort/acetic Acid Otic Sol(ear) for an ear infection? What was your experience like?
I'm dealing with an outer ear infection (otitis externa) and my doctor prescribed Hydrocort/acetic Acid Otic Sol(ear) drops. The medicine contains acetic acid to kill bacteria and fungi, and hydrocortisone to reduce swelling, redness, and itching. I'm wondering if anyone else has used this medication and can share their experience. Did it work well for you? Did you experience any side effects, and if so, how did you manage them? I'm particularly concerned about the urgent side effects like allergic reactions, and I'm curious if anyone has had to deal with those. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I used this last year and it worked like a charm. My ear infection cleared up in a few days, but I did feel some burning when I first applied the drops.
My friend had a bad experience with this. She said it caused her a lot of irritation and swelling, but she's also prone to allergic reactions so it might not be a general experience.
This is my first time using this medication and I've experienced so much burning and stinging. Can you guys share your tips on how to deal with it? Maybe it's just me but I find it difficult to tolerate.
I've had great success with this medication. You should keep in mind that it’s normal to feel a bit of stinging initially but it should subside quickly. I've used it twice now and both times it cleared up my infection within a week. Just make sure to follow the instructions and clean your ears properly before applying the drops. Also, if you're feeling really off, don't hesitate to call your doctor even if you think it's minor. Better safe than sorry, right?
I had some really unpleasant symptoms like trouble breathing, and my doctor told me to stop using it and come in right away. I ended up having to take something else instead. It was scary, but I'm glad I didn't just brush it off.
It’s important to remember that while this medication is generally effective, you should always be on the lookout for serious side effects. If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, do not wait it out—get to a doctor immediately. Better to be safe.
I feel like this medication is a great option for treating outer ear infections. It's been very effective for me and I haven't experienced any serious side effects. Just remember to follow the dosage instructions carefully.
