I've noticed a persistent bad taste in my mouth. Considering the severity of the side effects stated, including swelling and breathing issues, I want to prepare myself for any potential issues. I had an MRI with Prohance a few months back and experienced a weird metallic taste in my mouth for about a day. It was unsettling, but it went away eventually. I'm glad to hear others had similar experiences..
I have a friend who's had kidney problems after Prohance. It's terrifying to think about. If you notice any changes in urine output or blood in your urine, go to the ER immediately. It could be a sign of kidney issues. I wonder if it is the best thing for your health, or if there are other options. The nurse said there are, but it might not be as effective.
I've had it a few times and never had an issue. But I've heard horror stories from others. My doctor said it's rare. Changes in taste can happen, but it should go away. If it doesn't, call your doctor.
Do these side effects persist for a long time? I'm worried about long term effects.
It is so rare to have reactions that are severe. Most reactions are mild and will not lead to long term issues. If you are worried, you can always ask for a different contrast agent.
I had Prohance for my MRI last year and didn't experience any side effects at all. Maybe you're just imagining things.
I had a really bad reaction to Prohance. I developed hives and had trouble breathing. I ended up in the ER. This was years ago, and I'm still careful about any contrast agents. It was scary and I'll avoid it if I can in the future. Did you report it to the FDA? They need to know about these things.
