I'm considering trying Probenecid/Colchicine Tablets to manage my gout, but I'm a bit concerned about the potential side effects, especially kidney issues. Probenecid helps your body get rid of excess uric acid, which causes gout, and Colchicine helps reduce the inflammation and pain during gout attacks. However, I've read in the documentation, there can be some serious side effects. I wondered if anyone here has tried this medication and can share their experience. Has anyone had to deal with kidney problems or muscle pain while taking it? Also curious how often these side effects occur. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!.

I think the key is to stay hydrated and take it with food. I've been on these for a while and have had no issues, but I've got a friend who tried it and had all sorts of problems. It could be how they were taking it, who knows. They got off it and switched to something else.

I had some issues where I felt like my body wasn't getting rid of uric acid as fast as it should have been, so I switched to another medication.

I've heard that the Probenecid part of the medication is great for clearing out uric acid, but the Colchicine can cause more issues than it's worth. Just something to consider.

I don't know.. I've heard some good and some bad about this medication. Be careful and watch out for serious signs of problems.

If you're worried about side effects, you should talk to your doctor. Ask them what they think and whether or not they think you should go for it. My doctor was all for it and I've had no issues. My friend's doctor wasn't so sure.

I've been on these for a few months now and haven't had any issues. But I do make sure to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
