I recently started taking Rosuvastatin 5mg Tablets to manage my high cholesterol and triglycerides. The medicine has been effective in reducing my LDL cholesterol and increasing my HDL cholesterol, which is great for my heart health and reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke. However, I've noticed some muscle pain, which the doctor mentioned could be a side effect. I'm a bit concerned because I've read that in rare cases, severe muscle problems can lead to kidney problems. How common is this, and how can I manage this side effect? More importantly, what should I be watching out for and when should I contact a doctor? I'd appreciate any advice or personal experiences from others who have taken this medication.

I've been on Rosuvastatin for a year and haven't had any muscle pain, but it could be due to the lower dosage. My doctor started me on 2.5mg and I'm doing fine with it. Everyone's body reacts differently to medications, so it might be worth discussing a lower dosage with your doctor.

I've had similar experiences with muscle pain, but it helped me to do some light yoga and stretching exercises. It's not a cure, but it helps manage the discomfort. Always helpful to check in with your healthcare provider about any changes in your health.

I've never had any issues with Rosuvastatin, I've just had minor joint pain. But that's it. I keep an eye on my muscle pains and if it gets worse I'll call my doc.

I don't see how people go without this medication. I had the same problem with muscle pain and when I finally got switched to a different statin it was like a miracle. My doc told me that the side effects will not be there once I get used to the medication.

My mom was on Rosuvastatin for years with no problems, but my dad had to switch due to muscle pain. It's so individual, isn't it? Anyway, best to be cautious and keep an eye on those symptoms. Better safe than sorry!

This is a critical topic. If the muscle pain is severe or accompanied by fever or feeling unwell, seek medical attention immediately. Muscle problems can lead to kidney problems in rare cases, especially if you're over 65 or have other health conditions like low thyroid function or kidney issues.

Statins can be life-saving, but they're not without risks. My doctor always tells me that side effects are more common with higher doses, so maybe consider asking for a lower dose, or even a different statin if the side effects are too much to bear.

If you're experiencing muscle pain, it's definitely worth talking to your doctor. They might adjust your dosage or switch you to a different statin. I had to switch to Atorvastatin because of muscle pain.

I got really bad muscle pain from Rosuvastatin and even had to go to the hospital. Turned out I had rhabdomyolysis, which is a muscle breakdown that can lead to kidney damage. Scary stuff! Be careful and trust your gut if something feels really off.
