I was recently prescribed Acticlate 150mg Tablets for a severe skin infection. The prescription label warns about some serious side effects, including allergic reactions, liver problems, and even increased pressure in the brain. I'm a bit freaked out. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear some personal stories or advice on how to manage these potential issues. I've also had bad experiences with antibiotics in the past, so I'm needlessly worrying about the worst-case scenario. This is the first time I've taken Doxycycline, and I must admit, the list of potential side effects is pretty daunting. But I'm sure there's an upside to this medicine, right? Please share your thoughts.

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the increased pressure in the brain. That's a scary one. I had a relative who had this issue, and it's not something to mess with. If you experience any vision changes, get to a doctor ASAP. Time is of the essence.

I've been on Acticlate for a while now. The side effects are pretty manageable, but some people might have different experiences. The doctor said to take it with food to avoid an upset stomach. Also, make sure to finish the entire course even if you feel better. Antibiotics work best that way. Let your body recover at your own pace, and don't rush things.

Consider taking with a probiotic to help with the diarrhea. I've had C. diff before—it's no joke. Trust me, a little prevention goes a long way. Also, finish your entire course of antibiotics. Taking them inconsistently can lead to antibiotic resistance, and that's another problem you don't want to deal with. (Cue scary music).

I had nasty vaginal discharge and was scared! But it wasn't that bad in the end. Just make sure to stay on top of your symptoms and check in with your doctor regularly. No use in taking unnecessary risks.

I'm glad you brought this up. I was prescribed Acticlate a few weeks ago and didn't know about these side effects. I've been feeling off and I'm going to call my doctor right away. Diarrhea is common. But severe diarrhea? That's a whole different ball game especially with Covid running rampant.

Are you worried about the increased pressure in the brain? That's rare, but scary. I'd keep an eye out for any vision changes or headaches. I'm curious if anyone else has had this side effect. Let me know how it goes!

I had a really bad reaction to Acticlate. I ended up in the ER with severe stomach pain and vomiting. Turns out it was pancreatitis. If you experience any of those symptoms, go to the hospital immediately. Better safe than sorry. Do not take this lightly and make sure to speak to your doctor immediately.

I've had no issues with Acticlate so far. Just a bit of upset stomach, but it's manageable. I'm taking it for a urinary tract infection, and it's working well. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Sounds like a lot to worry about, but lots of people take this med with no major issues. If you're really worried, talk to your doctor about alternatives. Or, if you have access, you can even ask to switch to a different antibiotic. I did that once and it worked out for me.
