I've been prescribed Amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5-20mg T for high blood pressure, but I'm nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, especially if you've dealt with any severe side effects like kidney problems or allergic reactions. Also, how effective has it been in managing your blood pressure? Any tips for coping with the side effects would be greatly appreciated!

I've had no major issues with this med. Just a bit of a headache here and there, which is manageable. I also take it with food to avoid any stomach issues. So far, so good!

I read that if you have this med for a long time you might need to adjust your diet for your potassium levels. I am worried about this. Has anyone else had to deal with this?

Be careful! I had a friend who started taking this and ended up in the ER with severe swelling. Turns out she was allergic to one of the components. If you notice any weird symptoms, get to a doctor ASAP.

I switched to this from another blood pressure med because I was having trouble with my kidneys. My doctor said amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5-20mg T would be safer for me. It's been okay so far, but I keep a close eye on my potassium levels as the doctor advised. It's also caused me to flush a lot, especially in the face. It's not as bad as it sounds, but it's still a bit embarrassing.

I've had a couple of bad headaches since I started this. Not sure if it's the med or just stress, but I'm keeping an eye on it. Other than that, it's been okay so far. I'm hoping the headaches go away soon.

I had some diarrhea the first week or so. It was pretty annoying, but it went away. Make sure you drink plenty of water, it helped me a lot!

I was super nervous about the kidney issues, but my doc ran some tests and said my kidneys were fine. Just keep an eye on any changes in your urine and report them to your doctor.

Just make sure you don't stop taking it cold turkey if you decide you hate it. My doc told me that can cause a massive spike in blood pressure. Not worth the risk.

I was really worried about the side effects too, but my doctor assured me they're rare. I've been taking it for a year now and haven't had any issues. Just make sure to monitor your blood pressure regularly.
