I've been prescribed Atenolol 100mg/chlorthal 25mg Tabs for high blood pressure and want to hear about others' experiences. This medication combines a beta-blocker (atenolol) and a diuretic (chlorthalidone) to lower blood pressure by slowing heart rate, relaxing blood vessels, and reducing excess salt and water. While the side effects listed are mostly manageable, it's the severe ones that have me worried. I've seen people mentioning feeling very weak, confused or having high blood sugar. Has anyone experienced these? I want to make sure I'm prepared and not just anxious for nothing.

This medication saved my life. My blood pressure was through the roof, and nothing else seemed to work. I had some side effects at first, but they went away. Now I feel great.

I've been on this combo for a few months now. It's worked well for my blood pressure, but I did experience some dizziness and fatigue initially. It subsided after a few weeks. Just be sure to stay hydrated and monitor your electrolytes!

Be careful with this one. I ended up in the ER with severe dizziness and passing out. My doctor said it was likely due to the diuretic causing electrolyte imbalances. Make sure to get your electrolytes checked regularly if you start feeling off.

I had a weird rash and itching all over my body. Turns out it was an allergic reaction to the drug. I stopped taking it immediately and everything cleared up. Just wanted to share my experience. I wish I had checked side effects more thoroughly before I started taking it.

I had a really bad experience with this medication. I ended up in the hospital with pancreatitis. Turns out it was a side effect. I had no idea it could do that. I had to change meds completely.
