I've been using Biafine Emulsion for a few weeks to treat some radiation burns, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced any severe side effects. It's worked wonders for me, but I noticed some unusual signs on my skin a few days ago. I haven't seen any of the urgent side effects listed, but I am concerned about a rash and some itching. The rash isn't severe, but I'm worried about the potential for an allergic reaction. I've heard that Biafine can cause skin irritation, but I'm not sure if this is something I should be more concerned about. It's weird, though, because I'm also feeling some tightness in my chest and throat sometimes, which isn't a side effect listed. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this cream? My doctor recommended it, but I'm still a bit cautious. If anyone has gone through something similar, I'd love to hear your story and how you handled it. I know it's rare, but I'd rather be safe and worried, than sorry.

I had a similar experience, but it was just a mild irritation for me. I talked to my dermatologist, and they advised me to stop using it right away and switch to Aquaphor.

My mom swears by Biafine for sunburns and radiation burns. I think it's because she hasn't had any side effects. It’s one of the few creams that actually work for her.

I've found Biafine to be really helpful for burns, as they say on the label. Have you tried applying a cool compress before using it? It might help with the tightness in your chest and throat, too.

I found a steroid cream called Ceyba to be even better for burns. It heals the skin faster and doesn’t have the same side effects that Biafine has. It’s a lot more expensive but might be worth it for the relief.

I had a bad reaction to Biafine, too. I got this weird skin infection because of it. It’s why I won’t use it again. I had to be hospitalized and everything, so be careful.

Skin irritation is a common side effect and can be managed if you catch it early enough. If you experience any signs of infection, though, seek medical attention immediately. It’s easy to treat on your own, but you do not want to risk an infection.

Don't ignore any side effects. It may seem like a small rash, no big deal. But you can't know what it will lead to. Trust me, it might end up being severe.

A rash is serious. Be careful, no matter the risk. The doctor may have prescribed it for you, but they are not the person sitting in your skin.

I read up on some of the side effects. It seems like the chest tightness might not be related? It might be something else. I'd call your doctor ASAP about that. The rash and itching seems more likely. Just to be safe, I'd stop using Biafine until you talk to your doctor.
