I was prescribed Ceftriaxone 1gm And Dextrose Inj 1 Vial for a severe urinary tract infection. I'm on my third day of treatment, and while I'm hoping it clears up the infection, I'm nervous about the potential side effects. I've read that some people experience severe reactions, and I want to know if anyone has gone through this and what their experience was like. I'm particularly concerned about the signs of an allergic reaction and kidney problems. Has anyone had to deal with these, and if so, how did you manage them? Also, are there any tips for minimizing the discomfort from the injection site? I've been feeling some irritation, and it's a bit concerning. Thanks in advance for any insights!

Feeling dizzy after the injection is normal for this drug I looked it up. But I have not had any of the warning signs.

I got some kind of weird taste in my mouth after my first dose. It wasn't severe, but it was definitely strange. Went away after a few hours though.

I had some kidney issues due to the Ceftriaxone. I was hospitalized for a couple of days. It was scary, but I was lucky - I recovered and my kidneys are fine now. Paid attention to these side effects and saw a specialist

I had some minor irritation at the injection site. Applying a warm compress helped a lot. Also, make sure the healthcare provider giving you the shot is experienced. It makes a big difference.

Ceftriaxone saved my life when I had meningitis. The side effects were nothing compared to the infection. Just be vigilant, and if you feel anything weird, talk to your doc.

I've had Ceftriaxone a few times and never had any major issues. Just a bit of diarrhea and upset stomach, but it wasn't too bad. Make sure you stay hydrated, that helped me a lot.
