Has anyone experienced severe side effects from Cipro/dexameth 0.3-0.1% Otic Susp ear drops?
I was prescribed Cipro/dexameth 0.3-0.1% Otic Susp for an ear infection, and I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects. This ear drop contains ciprofloxacin to kill bacteria and dexamethasone to reduce swelling and redness. While the doctor assured me it's generally safe, the list of potential side effects is quite long. Has anyone else used this medication? I'd love to hear your experiences and any tips on managing side effects. I've read this medication can cause allergic reactions and severe ear irritation. I'm hoping to avoid that as well! Does it get significantly better after a few days? I am mostly worried about ear pain, is that common for everyone or did it just happen to me?

Make sure to give the drops time to work. The first few days can be uncomfortable, but it should get better. But if you experience severe ear irritation or any allergic reactions, stop using them immediately and call your doctor. I've experienced mild discomfort but nothing too severe. Ear pain is a common side effect, but it should subside as the infection clears up.
I've used these drops a few times and I do remember it feeling a bit uncomfortable, but not excruciating. I usually take a warm compress around my ears after, it helps with discomfort. You just feel like the drops are intensifying the symptoms for a few hours, but it goes away! It feels like it gets worse before it gets better. But it's better to be safe than sorry, so keep an eye on those symptoms.
I've never used a drug that seemed to require so much caution to use. I would strongly recommend staying in constant communication with your doctor when you start taking these. I was so worried when I started using them so I called every time something felt off, and it was worth the peace of mind.
I had a bad reaction to these ear drops last year. I started feeling dizzy and my heart was racing. Had to stop using them and switch to something else. Definitely scary stuff.
Don't worry, I used these drops for a week and didn't have any issues at all. It might just be a matter of how your body reacts to it. But those other side effects are definitely scary. Be careful and listen to your body.
