Has anyone experienced severe side effects from Diastat 2.5mg Ped Rectalkit #2?
I'm looking for insights from people who have used Diastat 2.5mg Ped Rectalkit #2. I've been reading about the possible side effects, and I'm curious if anyone has experienced any of the urgent side effects mentioned, like severe dizziness, fainting, or even suicidal thoughts. I'm especially worried because I've heard stories of some of these side effects getting out of hand and causing serious harm when not attended to. If you've used this medication, how did your experience go? Were there any unexpected side effects for you, and how did you manage them? Was it effective in stopping the seizures? Thanks for sharing your experiences and any tips you might have!

I had a really bad experience with this medication. My daughter started having hallucinations and severe confusion. We had to rush her to the hospital. Not worth the risk in my opinion. Talk to your doctor
My kiddo is epileptic too, and both our lives are dependent on this medication. It's a bit scary to think about the possible side effects, but it's a necessary evil. Just be vigilant and inform all your caregivers about its use and possible side effects.
Why would you risk these side effects when there are other options available? I've had bad experiences with benzodiazepines in the past, and I think it's important to explore other treatments first. Just my two cents.
I didn't know about the suicidal thoughts risk. That's terrifying. I need to talk to my doctor about this. If I ever experience any of these side effects, I'll be heading straight to the ER.
I'm a nurse, and I've seen patients experience some of the more serious side effects. It's crucial to act quickly if you notice any signs of an allergic reaction or other urgent symptoms. Always better to be safe and seek medical help right away. And always keep a close eye on suicidal thoughts.
I've had some pretty bad experiences with benzodiazepines, but this one is different. No major issues for me, just some drowsiness which is manageable. Everyone is different, so it's hard to say how it will affect you. Just stay alert and go to the doctor at the first sign of trouble.
I had to give this to a friend in the middle of a seizure. Not the easiest thing to do, but it worked. I can’t imagine having to do that to my own kid. I got scared just seeing it work.
My doctor told me about the suicidal thoughts risk. That's a hard one to hear about, but it's something to watch out for. Just keep an eye out, and you'll be fine.
