I'm scheduled to get an MRI with Elucirem 3.75mmol/7.5ml Inj for the first time and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else used this dye and had severe reactions? The list of urgent side effects looks scary—especially the allergic reactions and kidney problems. How does the injection site irritation usually present? I've heard from a friend that Elucirem can cause more than just warmth or coldness at the injection site, but I’m not sure what to believe. Also, I’m curious about the reporting process if something goes wrong; does anyone have experience reporting side effects to the FDA through MedWatch?

I’ve seen some people freaking out about the possibility of kidney problems, but honestly, it’s pretty rare. Just make sure you stay hydrated before and after the procedure, and you should be fine.

I've had Elucirem a few times and didn’t experience any issues, but I’ve heard horror stories from others. The key is to inform the doctor about any allergies you might have beforehand. And remember, the risk of severe reactions is low, but you need to be prepared.

I had a really bad reaction to Elucirem last year. I started itching all over and got hives within minutes of the injection. I had trouble breathing and they had to administer an epinephrine shot. I was scared and felt lucky that the medical team was ready to handle it. Needless to say, I had to go to the hospital and my MRI was canceled. I wouldn't recommend underestimating the risks.

I read that Elucirem can sometimes cause a feeling of warmth or coldness at the injection site. Is this normal or something to worry about?

I had an MRI with this dye and everything went fine. No side effects, no issues. Just a bit of warmth at the injection site, which was totally bearable. It really helped the doctors see what they needed to.

Just a heads up, if you experience swelling at the injection site, it might be a sign of something serious. Don’t brush it off, let your nurse or doctor know right away.

The reporting process for side effects is actually pretty straightforward. My friend reported hers to the FDA through MedWatch after having an allergic reaction. Just visit the website, fill out the form, and submit it. They take it seriously, especially if it’s something urgent like an allergic reaction.

I had a question about the kidney problems. They mentioned significant weight gain. Is that like gaining a few pounds or something more drastic? I'm a bit worried about it.

I got a really bad headache after my MRI with Elucirem. It was just a mild headache, not like the severe ones mentioned, but I was still worried. I decided to call my doctor and got some advice on managing it. Fortunately, it went away after a few hours. Just remember that everyone can react differently.

I had a really good experience. I was a little nervous because of the side effects listed, but it went smoothly. No itching, no rash, nothing. I think it’s important to stay calm and trust the medical team. They know what they’re doing.
