I've been prescribed Evomela 50mg injections for my multiple myeloma treatment. I've read about the potential side effects, but I'm curious if anyone has experienced any of the more severe ones, like serious lung problems or tissue damage at the injection site. How did you cope, and what kind of support did you receive from your medical team? Also, are there any strategies to manage the more common side effects like mouth sores or nausea?

I'm looking for any advice, encouragement, or personal stories that might help me prepare for what's ahead. Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear this. I had a friend who went through it, and she said the worst part was the mouth sores. She couldn't eat anything without it hurting. She used a special mouth rinse and some numbing gel, and it helped a lot. And drink lots of water, too. Staying hydrated makes a big difference.

This stuff is nasty. I had terrible constipation. Drink lots of water and eat fiber-rich foods. It was a big help for me.

I had a reaction to another chemo drug before, so I was nervous about Evomela. The nurses at my oncology clinic were amazing. They monitored me really closely for any signs of an allergic reaction, and I felt safe. It's so important to have a good medical team.

I got some serious tissue damage from a leaky IV. It was awful. I had to get a skin graft. Just be sure to tell your nurse right away if you notice any redness or soreness at the injection site. They need to be on top of it right away.

I had some serious issues. After my second dose, I developed a severe cough and had trouble breathing. Turns out it was a lung problem caused by the Evomela. They had to stop the treatment for a while and give me steroids to help. It was scary, but my oncologist was great at monitoring and managing it. Be sure to tell your doctor right away if you notice any breathing issues!

I'm so sorry to hear about your struggle. My mom had multiple myeloma and was on Evomela. She had some nausea and fatigue, but nothing too severe. We managed it with anti-nausea meds and lots of rest. Make sure you have a good support system and communicate openly with your medical team. It makes all the difference in the world.

I’m not on Evomela, but my dad was. He had a lot of issues with his stomach. He was throwing up all the time and lost a lot of weight. What helped him most was anti-nausea meds and a lot of rest. Make sure you have a good support system with you. It really is a big deal.
