I've been prescribed Glipizide ER 2.5mg Tablets for my type 2 diabetes and have been taking it for a couple of weeks now. The medication is supposed to help my body release more insulin, which should lower my blood sugar levels. It's an extended-release tablet, so I only take it once a day. However, I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects. The leaflet mentions some serious ones like allergic reactions, changes in eyesight, and even low blood sugar. I've had a couple of mild headaches and some dizziness, but I'm not sure if these are related to the medication. Has anyone else experienced these side effects or any others? I'd love to hear your experiences and any advice you might have. Also, how do you manage the potential for low blood sugar?

I've been on Glipizide for a few months and haven't had any major issues. Just some occasional dizziness, but nothing too bad. Make sure to monitor your blood sugar levels regularly!

I switched to a different medication because the dizziness was too much for me. It's worth talking to your doctor about alternatives if the side effects are bothering you.

Has anyone found any tips for managing the side effects? I've heard that eating smaller, more frequent meals can help with blood sugar fluctuations.

I've had some really bad headaches that wouldn't go away for days. I started taking some OTC pain relievers and it helped.

I've had some stomach issues—mainly diarrhea and gas. It's not amazing, but I can handle it. I carry glucose tablets with me just in case and always let people know what's going on so they can help if needed.

Seriously? I have experienced some nausea and feeling overall jittery. I'm not sure how to handle it, but I'm going to talk to my doctor about it. Thanks for posting this.

Good luck with your treatment! Make sure to follow your doctor's instructions carefully and keep an eye out for any symptoms that seem out of the ordinary. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask your doctor. They're there to help!
