I was prescribed Homatropine 5% eye drops for an eye exam and was told they might make my eyes sting a bit. But I had read that these drops can do more than just cause burning or stinging. Now I'm worried. Does anyone have experience with these drops, especially the more serious side effects? What should I do if I feel confused or agitated after using them? Let me know if you have any tips to share as well.

I'm just worried since I have a history of allergic reactions. Any tips for minimizing the risk? Those urgent side effects are scary!

I think my doctor said a lot of people don't experience side effects, but it's good to be prepared. Keep the doctor's number handy just in case.

I actually think the drops are pretty cool. They make your eye freakishly big. It's like having a cat eye.

I'm actually using these now as part of a treatment and it's not too bad. I just take my time and I give myself a good 5-10 minutes of not doing anything but resting after the drops go in. Then, I am good to go. The last thing I want is to ruin my vision or anything.

I'd say the burning or stinging is definitely the worst. Try using an eye drop that can help with the dry mouth, that can really get annoying.

I had a friend who felt really confused after using these. Maybe it's just rare and not really anything to worry about but I doubt I would risk it.

I had to laugh when they told me I might feel confused. I was like, 'well, I'm still sober ! I guess we'll find out' I am glad I didn't experience side effects.

Seems like a lot of people have trouble with the allergic reactions. I guess it's just best to be cautious.
