I was prescribed Hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-300 TB for a bad back injury. I've heard about the potential for serious side effects. I'm curious if anyone has had any bad experiences with this medication or if it's generally well-tolerated. I'm especially concerned about the potential for addiction since it contains an opioid. Has anyone dealt with that, or has anyone found effective ways to manage the pain without becoming dependent?

I had a really bad reaction to this stuff. I started breaking out in hives all over my body and had trouble breathing. Ended up in the ER. I'd be very careful if I were you.

I've been on it for a few weeks and haven't had any major issues. Just a bit of dizziness and constipation, nothing I can't handle.

I think people need to be more open about the risks of opioids. It's not just a matter of addiction—the side effects can be really serious.

I switched to a non-opioid pain reliever after a week. The hydrocodone made me feel way too out of it. I'd rather deal with a bit more pain than feel like a zombie.

I got really bad skin reactions. It was scary. Turns out I'm allergic to acetaminophen. Who knew?

Seriously, the addiction potential is real. I know people who've had to go through rehab because of this stuff. It's not something to mess around with.

I think the key is to follow the prescription exactly. Don't take more than you're supposed to, and don't take it for longer than your doctor says. I had to go off it cold turkey after a month and it wasn't easy, but I did it.

I've taken this for chronic pain for years. It's a double-edged sword. It helps with the pain, but the side effects can be awful. And yeah, the addiction is a real concern. I've had to taper off a few times.

I had to stop taking it because it messed with my hearing. It was like everything was underwater. Weirdest side effect ever.
