I've been prescribed Klor-Con Powder Pkts 20meq 100s to treat low potassium levels. The possible side effects listed are quite worrying, especially the urgent ones. Has anyone had any severe reactions or had to seek medical attention? I'm also curious about how well it works for maintaining potassium levels. I'd love to hear from people who have experience with this medication, good or bad!

I've been on a few different potassium supplements. Klor-Con was the most effective for me, but I’ve had to deal with some minor issues. The stomach pain was the worst, but it settled over time.

I actually had an allergic reaction and had to stop taking it. It was scary. I had hives and trouble breathing. Definitely a horror story to share with your doctor if they prescribe it to you.

It tastes like the ocean. I had to try different flavors before I found one I could handle. My best bet was to mix it with orange juice, but it was still awful.

Make sure to talk to your doctor about any other medications you're taking. I've heard it can interact with certain drugs and cause problems. On a lighter note, it's also good to get creative with how you mix it. I’ve tried a few different drinks to mask the taste, but it's hard to avoid completely.

I've been on it for a few months and haven't had any issues. Just make sure to take it with plenty of water.

I had some stomach pain initially, but it went away after a few days. Otherwise, it's been fine for managing my potassium levels.

If you're having side effects, I'd definitely recommend keeping a food diary and tracking your potassium levels. Sometimes it's not the medication but other aspects of your diet that could be causing issues. It's all part of the balancing act.

This medication is a lifesaver, but you need to be careful. I had a friend who experienced high potassium levels and ended up in the ER. Definitely monitor your levels regularly if you're on this.

How are you finding the taste? I've heard it's pretty bad, but I'm not sure if I can stomach it yet.

I was prescribed Klor-Con for a brief period, but my doctor switched me to a different supplement because of potential long-term effects. I think it's worth discussing with your doctor if you have concerns about side effects.
