I've been prescribed Loxitane 50mg capsules for my schizophrenia, and I'm really concerned about the possible side effects. The medication guide mentions some serious issues like Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome and Tardive Dyskinesia. Has anyone else taken this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, especially if you've dealt with any of the more severe side effects. How did you manage them, and what advice do you have for someone just starting out?

I've read that the medication works by balancing certain natural chemicals in the brain, but I'm still worried. Any insights or encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

I had a friend who took Loxitane and ended up with some really bad side effects. He had trouble controlling his body movements and had to switch meds. It's scary stuff, so definitely keep an eye out for those symptoms and talk to your doctor ASAP.

I think it's important to discuss these things openly. Mental health struggles are tough as it is, and the last thing we need is to feel alone in dealing with medication side effects. Stay strong, and remember that your doctor is there to help.

Has anyone tried the alternative meds for schizophrenia? I've heard some positive things about Abilify. Maybe worth looking into?

I've been on Loxitane for a few months now, and while I had some initial dizziness, it went away after a week. As for the serious side effects, I haven't experienced any, but I'm definitely cautious. Always good to be informed and stay vigilant!

I've been taking Loxitane for a few years now. The only side effects I've had are dry mouth and constipation, which are manageable. I hope you find some peace, and just remember anyone can deal with it!

Does anyone else feel like the side effects are worse than the symptoms? I'm thinking of switching to something else, but I'm worried about the withdrawal symptoms.
