I recently had an MRI scan where they used Multihance Solution, 15ml. It's a contrast dye that contains gadolinium. The doctor assured me it's safe, but I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects. I've read about rare but severe reactions that can occur, like kidney problems and tissue damage. Has anyone else had experience with this? I want to know if anyone had serious issues or if it's generally well-tolerated. What are your experiences with this contrast dye?

I'm a bit worried about this too. I have a family history of kidney problems, and I'm wondering if it's safe for me.

I had an MRI with this dye a while back and felt a bit flushed right after, but it went away quickly. No other issues. Of course, the doctors' precautions are important, so do pay attention to that.

If you have kidney issues, be extra cautious. Multihance can cause kidney problems, and it's important to monitor your health closely after the scan. Talk to your doctor about your kidney function beforehand. I've had good experience with the scan, but had a friend who had some kidney issues after using this solution.

I'm a nurse, and I've seen a few patients have reactions to Multihance. Mostly it's mild stuff like feeling hot or having a headache. This is something more common as well. But a few had more serious reactions like hives or swelling. It's important to be monitored closely after the injection. If you have any history of kidney issues, make sure to discuss this with your doctor before getting the scan. Your urine output might change, and so will your blood. If you have other medical conditions, you should ask about other side effects too.
