I've been prescribed Niaspan 750mg ER Tablets to help manage my cholesterol levels. I've heard that it can have some pretty serious side effects, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced any of these issues. I'm particularly concerned about the ones that require immediate medical attention. Has anyone had any issues with symptoms like chest pain, abnormal heartbeat, or signs of liver problems? Also, any tips on managing the flushing? I've heard taking aspirin beforehand might help. I'd love to hear from anyone with personal experiences or medical advice.

I'm just starting this medication and I'm a bit nervous about the liver issues. Has anyone had any problems in that area or how long does it usually take to see any side effects.

This stuff is brutal. I had to stop taking it after a week because the flushing was unbearable and I was getting hives. Definitely talk to your doctor about alternative options if the side effects are too much to handle.

I had a friend who ended up in the ER with severe muscle pain and weakness after starting Niaspan. Turns out it was rhabdomyolysis. Scary stuff. Always know the signs and symptoms to look out for.

Over here not experiencing any issues… yet. Just here for my daily dose of free medical advice without looking up the potential side effects. If you're going to take Niaspan, just be careful. Oh yeah, take an aspirin before you take it ya dingus.

I’ve been taking Niacin for years and had no issues. Plus, I’ve been doing blood work every 6 months and my cholesterol is back to normal. I don’t know if Niaspan is the best choice, but it works.

I had to stop taking Niaspan because it was giving me severe stomach pain. It's a bummer because it was helping my cholesterol levels, but my health is more important. If you have any digestive side effects, don’t hesitate to contact your doctor.
