I've been prescribed Nitrofurantoin 25mg/5ml Oral Susp for a urinary tract infection and I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects. I took Nitrofurantoin for a UTI last year and had no issues at all. Just a bit of stomach upset, but it went away after a few days. I made sure to take it with food like the doc said.
I had severe stomach pain and vomiting while on Nitrofurantoin. Turns out I had pancreatitis. I was really scared, but thankfully it wasn't severe. Just be aware of the symptoms and if you feel something is really wrong, go to the hospital. Better safe than sorry.
