I was recently prescribed Nulojix to help prevent my body from rejecting my transplanted kidney. I've read about some pretty scary side effects, including allergic reactions and urinary tract infections. Has anyone else dealt with this and can share their experiences? Were the side effects manageable, or did they become too severe to handle? I'm looking for some reassurance and any tips on how to manage this medication effectively.

I've heard horror stories about this stuff. Just make sure to follow your doctor's instructions to the letter. Do you have a good medical team? That can make a huge difference.

I was worried about the mood changes and mental health side effects, but I didn't experience any severe issues. Just a bit of dizziness and a mild headache here and there.

Seriously? Nulojix is a lifesaver. It has been a few years since my transplant and I am still doing great.

This is just an additional warning for anyone who is taking this drug, please make sure you do not stop the treatment without consulting your doctor. I had the worst flu ever, and I was calling all my friends to check if they had it, wondering if it was something else, but turns out, my doctor had to remind me you can never stop this drug for more than 24 hours or you will go into rejection. I had to make sure I kept a close eye on my situation.

I've been on Nulojix for about a year now, and while it was initially scary to start, I've managed pretty well so far. There was a period where I experienced some mild flu-like symptoms, but my doctor assured me it was a normal reaction and prescribed some over-the-counter meds to help. Just make sure to keep an eye on your urine output and any changes in your skin.

Very informative post, thanks for sharing everyone's experiences. It has been awhile since I took this drug, but I still remember being extremely cautious about side effects. Hope everyone who needs this drug finds some good community support! Feel free to send me a message if you need more reassurance or support.

I had to be careful with my diet and exercise while on Nulojix. My doctor recommended keeping my electrolyte levels in check to avoid any unexpected mood swings or muscle cramps. It was a bit tricky at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was manageable. I just took a few steps to monitor my levels all the time. I think a lot of people might not have known that you can test your electrolytes yourself and take precautions if you suspect an imbalanced, so I thought I would share.
