I was given Ofirmev 10mg/ml Inj, 100ml intravenously after my recent surgery to manage post-operative pain. I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar experience, especially regarding severe side effects. The hospital staff mentioned that it's generally safe, but the list of potential side effects is quite alarming. I'm currently experiencing some mild stomach upset, but I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with more serious issues like liver problems or allergic reactions and how they were able to manage it. Additionally, I've heard that it can interact with other medications, so I'd be interested to know if anyone has had issues with this as well. What precautions did you take or were you told to take?

Ofirmev was a game-changer for me. I had some upset stomach and trouble sleeping, but nothing too bad. I just drank plenty of water and it was fine. I'm so thankful for this medicine and I would recommend it to anyone who needs IV pain management

I had a bad experience. After a surgery, I developed signs of a severe skin reaction (Stevens-Johnson syndrome). My skin was blistered, and I had a high fever. I had to be hospitalized for a while. As soon as you notice redness or any abnormal symptoms, contact your doctor right away.

I had to take Ofirmev and was constantly worried about having a reaction. I think it's good to be cautious, but don't let it consume you.

I had Ofirmev after my surgery last year and it worked wonders for the pain, but I did experience some mild constipation. Definitely keep an eye out for any severe symptoms and inform your doctor right away, but I was told by the docs, that it's a really common, safe option for those who can't take meds orally.

I've had Liver problems before and my doctor mentioned that I should avoid Ofirmev if possible. I had to switch to a different pain management option and was told that if I ever have to take Ofirmev in the future, I should be aware that there are signs of liver problems and to go to the hospital immediately if they arise.

I didn’t know Ofirmev could cause such severe side effects. I'm worried for the people who have to take it.

I was given Ofirmev after a major surgery and it was a lifesaver. But I did have an allergic reaction: my throat felt tight and I had trouble swallowing. I immediately told the nurses and they stopped the drip. After checking with the doctor, they switched me to another pain management option and monitored me closely. It was quite scary, but the medical team handled it well.

I did not experience any side effects from Ofirmev - I was nervous, but I never felt any pain or anything. Not even a headache. It was a really great pain management solution and I would recommend it to anyone. No liver problems either.

This thread is making me nervous about the surgery I have coming up. How common are these side effects really? I don’t want to be worsened by the pain meds.
