I've been prescribed Olmesartan Medox/hctz 40-25mg Tab to manage my high blood pressure. The combination of olmesartan and hydrochlorothiazide seems to be effective, but I'm concerned about the potential side effects, especially the rare but serious ones. I've read about kidney problems, fluid and electrolyte issues, and even skin cancer risk. Has anyone else had experiences with this medication? What should I watch out for, and how can I best manage any side effects?

Watch out for the electrolyte problems! I ended up in the hospital with severe muscle cramps and extreme fatigue. Turns out I was low on potassium. My doctor put me on a potassium supplement and told me to eat more bananas and spinach. It made a big difference.

I've been on this medication for about six months now, and while it's helped lower my blood pressure, I've had some persistent dizziness. It's not terrible, but it's noticeable. I've had to be careful about getting up too quickly. Otherwise, no major issues so far, but it's good to be aware of the more serious side effects!

I've been taking it for a year and feel fine. No major issues. I do get a common cold a lot but I think it's just chance.

My doc told me to be really careful with this one—keep an eye out for the symptoms listed and don't hesitate to call him if I feel anything out of the ordinary. Be smart about it.

I stopped taking this medication because I developed a rash. It started as a minor itch, but it quickly turned into hives. I had to seek medical help right away. Be careful if you experience any skin changes.

Be careful with this one. My mom was on it and had to stop because of leg swelling. It was pretty scary.
