I've been prescribed Olmesartan Medoxomil/HCTZ 40-25mg Tab for my high blood pressure. I've heard some scary things about the side effects, especially the serious ones. Has anyone else taken this medication? Were there any issues you encountered? I'm particularly worried about the kidney problems and fluid/electrolyte imbalances. I want to be prepared but also don't want to overreact. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I was really worried about the eye problems, but my doc explained that it's really uncommon. Just make sure to get regular eye checkups if you decide to take it. I haven't had any eye issues so far.

I've taken Olmesartan Medoxomil/HCTZ for years and have had no side effects at all. It’s worth talking to your doctor if you have concerns. Do not stop taking it without telling them because of scary internet posts.

I've been on this med for a few months now and haven't had any issues. I take it with food and have had no problems with dizziness or stomach upset like some people talk about. Just make sure you stay hydrated and monitor your electrolyte levels.

Seriously guys, why are you freaking out over a relatively low risk. The serious side effects are RARE. Most people get through it fine. I never had a problem at all.

I had no idea this could cause skin cancer. That's a bit frightening, but I guess the risk is low. Still, maybe I should talk to my doc about switching meds. Thanks for the heads-up, everyone!

Watch out for the skin cancer risk too. I had a friend who started getting weird moles after taking this. You need to be diligent with sun protection and skin checks.
