I have an upcoming CT scan and my doctor recommended Omnipaque 240mg/ml Inj, 10ml. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the severe ones. The list is quite long and scary. Has anyone here had experience with this dye? Did you face any issues? What precautions did you take? Any advice on how to prepare for the scan? What should I look out for after the procedure? I'd appreciate any insights or personal stories to help me feel more at ease. Thanks!

I've had no issues so far with Omnipaque. But I've heard horror stories. Best to be prepared and know the signs of severe reactions. My doctor told me to watch for swelling, fever, or any skin changes. He said these could be a sign of a serious allergy.

I had to get the injection in an artery — it was a bit trickier. I had a few strange taste sensations, but nothing terrible. Make sure to tell your doctor about any unusual sensations immediately.

I had a CT scan with Omnipaque and felt a bit dizzy afterward, but nothing too bad. Just make sure to hydrate well before and after.

If they leak the dye outside of your vein, it can cause tissue damage. I had some redness and pain at the injection site for a couple of days. It was annoying, but not too bad. Report any unusual symptoms to your nurse right away and they will be able to help.

The worst part for me was the feeling of warmth spreading through my body. It was weird but not harmful. Just drink plenty of water before and after.

I had a bad reaction to it last time. I got hives and had trouble breathing. They stopped the scan and gave me medicine to counteract it. It was scary. Be prepared if you have allergies.

I've seen others have bad skin reactions from drugs like these. If yours starts saying please listen to your body and seek emergency medical help.
