I was prescribed Pfizerpen G 5mu Inj for a severe bacterial infection and I'm feeling really nervous about the potential side effects. The list is quite long and some of them are pretty scary. Has anyone here had experience with this medication? I'm particularly worried about the allergic reactions and high potassium levels. Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

You need to be really careful with Penicillin, I've heard it can cause C. diff-associated diarrhea, which can be really serious. If you start having severe stomach issues, get to a doctor ASAP.

I had a really bad reaction to penicillin once. I got hives and it was terrifying. Called it in to my doctor and they swapped me to another antibiotic. Please be careful and listen to your body.

The injection sites for IV or IM can get red and inflamed which is normal, but the redness should disappear after a day or two.

Diarrhea is common with antibiotics, but if it's severe or bloody, that's a sign of something much more serious. Definitely keep an eye out for that.

My mom has gotten penicillin injections a few times and the only thing she complained about was some irritation at the injection site. But everyone is different, so definitely keep an eye on how you feel.
