I'm starting chemotherapy soon and my doctor prescribed Posfrea 0.25mg/5ml Injectable, 1ml to help prevent nausea and vomiting. I've read about the possible side effects, which are mostly mild, but some are really frightening, like serotonin syndrome or chest pain. I'm not sure what to expect. Has anyone else taken this medicine? How did it go? What side effects did you experience? Were they manageable? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I took Posfrea during my chemo and it did a great job of keeping nausea at bay. No serious side effects for me, just a bit of constipation, but that was easy to manage. You might be fine and only get mild side effects.

I had a friend who had to take this after his surgery. He got through it without any issues. Just remember to drink a lot of water and listen to your body.

I had a bad reaction to Posfrea. I developed a rash and had trouble breathing. I went to the ER and they told me it was an allergic reaction. I ended up switching to a different medication. Just be aware of the signs and don't hesitate to seek medical help if you notice anything unusual.

If you start feeling any chest pain or trouble breathing, get to the hospital right away. better safe than sorry with stuff like that. Good luck with your treatment!

Palonosetron works by blocking a natural substance in your body that causes nausea and vomiting. It's pretty effective for most people. Just keep communication open with your healthcare provider.

I've had a few friends who had to stop taking Posfrea because of headaches that wouldn't go away. Just something to keep in mind. Hopefully, you'll be one of the lucky ones who doesn't have any issues.

Just remember, everyone's body reacts differently to medications. Keep an eye out for those serious side effects, but try not to worry too much. You'll be in good hands with your medical team.

Serotonin syndrome sounds scary. Make sure you're not taking any other medications that could interact with Posfrea and cause it. Always good to double-check with your doctor.

I had a friend who took this and they said it was a lifesaver. No nausea or vomiting, which is huge when you're already dealing with chemo. They did mention some headaches, but nothing too bad. Fingers crossed for you!
